Mr Franscois Runau

PhD | FRCS(Gen Surgery)
Mr Runau was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at University Hospital Leicester in 2020. He has a specialist interest in bowel cancer, early rectal cancers, inflammatory bowel disease, abdominal wall reconstruction and hernia surgery.
  • Advanced laparoscopic surgery including Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery (TAMIS) for bowel cancer and inflammatory bowel disease
  • Simple and complex hernia repairs
  • Minimally invasive and laser treatments for haemorrhoids, fistulas-in-ano, anal fissure, pilonidal sinus and anal skin tags
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy

Pippa Powley

Clinic Manager

Pippa Powley has been with the company for the last fourteen years. She has worked within administration and hospital management in the healthcare industry with both the NHS and private sector for the last 28 years. She has ongoing further training and qualifications in healthcare and a degree in business management.

She has worked with colorectal and general surgery patients for the majority of her career and is happy to help with queries or direct patients to the appropriate persons for advice and guidance and can help arrange suitable appointments in a timely manner.

Pippa knows a lot about medical insurance and is happy to help patients with any questions they have about their treatment, getting permission for procedures, and paying bills.

She’s married and has one grown-up son and two grown-up step-daughters. She’s lived in Leicestershire her whole life. Pippa has many interests like animals, outdoor activities, gardening, 3-day eventing, motoGP racing, movies, books, and anything related to science and astrophysics.

Rebecca West

Secretary

Rebecca, secretary to Leicester Bowel Clinic is fairly new to her role. However, she has 5 years of medical secretary experience within an Urgent Care department in the NHS and has a previous working history as a Senior Laboratory Assistant in a Microbiology laboratory.

She is happy to advise and answer questions in a polite and welcoming manner. She has a partner and 2 children whom she loves to spend her spare time with and has lived in Northamptonshire her whole life.
